Obituary of Isabel van Goozen

van Goozen, Mary Isabel Peacefully at her residence on Thursday November 15, 2012. Isabel (Swackhamer) at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Dirk van Goozen. Proud and devoted mother of Mary Pope of Kingston, John Dirk van Goozen (Wendy) of Guelph, Dale Lynn van Goozen of Guelph. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Kelly Ann Wiley (Hugh), Kate Kidd, Jennifer Pete (Brian), Brian Pope, Jody Markovic, Krista Wayne (Rob) and twelve great grandchildren. Loved aunt of her niece Brenda Strome (Jamie) and great nephew David of Waterloo;Joyce MacRae (John) of Dundas, Nadine Thompson (Jim) of Brampton. Predeceased by her brothers Harold, Leslie, Chris, and Ross Swackhamer. Isabel was a member of the Guelph Curling Club for over 38 years, loved to play Bridge with her friends and was a volunteer with the Alzheimer Society. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Tuesday November 20th (from 12:30 – 1:30pm) followed by a memorial service at 1:30pm.
