Obituary of Paul Becker
Becker, Paul
Passed away at Guelph General Hospital on December 14, 2021, at the age of 91, with his wife and best friend, Sherrill by his side. He is also survived by extended family, including his special niece Regina (Peter), great nieces Tanja (Christopher), Sandra (Gerd) and nephew Sebastian (Sabrina). Paul is predeceased by his parents Paul and Maria, siblings Helmut (Wilma), Werner (Inge), Elsa (Willi), Hans (Maria) and great niece Jutta (Herbert). Paul immigrated to Canada from Germany in the early 50’s, first settling in Kitchener, then in Toronto where he owned Parry Auto Electric. He met Sherrill at a ski club dance and the two were married. Still in Toronto, Paul became an ESSO dealer. Wishing a change, Paul took an opportunity to work for CANEX, the civilian organization supporting our Canadian Military, who were then in Lahr and Baden Baden, Germany. For the next three years, Paul and Sherrill were able to spend time with Paul’s wonderful family, to travel and ski, making new friends along the way. On their return to Canada, Paul and Sherrill landed in Guelph, where Paul owned Royal City Tire and Automotive. Paul was industrious, gentle, kind, caring, soft spoken, with a wicked sense of humour. Upon retirement, his happy places were the chalet, skiing, golfing and spending time in his workshop. He was always on the hunt for his next big project, always full of energy, curiosity and quiet enthusiasm. Till we meet again. "Du bist jetzt in Frieden und wieder vereint mit deiner Familie".
