Obituary of Wally Frey

FREY, Wallace Edward "Wally" Peacefully passed away at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener, on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Betty Frey (2006). Loving dad of Twila Nyman (Paul), Carey Frey (Pat), and Lisa Frey Youngs (Cameron). Dear grandpa of Michelle, Heather, and Matthew Nyman. Cherished grampy of Keegan and Kailee Youngs. Wally was born into a family of 9 siblings in Bengough, Saskatchewan. As a young man, he moved to Ontario, where he met his wife, Betty and started a family. He was a hardworking family man who enjoyed simple pleasures in life. He loved baseball, hockey, horse racing, reading the newspaper and playing cards with his family and friends. Wally spent his last years of life sharing his bright smile with the wonderful staff at Sunnyside Home. Wally was a gentle, quiet, and thoughtful soul who will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. Funeral services will be held at the Gilchrist Chapel-McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, in Guelph on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 1 P.M., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Guelph. Business casual attire is preferred.
