Obituary of Jeanne Page
Jeanne Page (nee Callan) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 2nd, 2024 at the age of 95. She was the devoted wife of the late Eric Page (2011), dear mother of Kendra (Paul) Pagnan, Janine and Robert (Jen 2021) and the loving grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers Jim (Alice) Callan (Port Perry), and Malcom (Helen) Callan (Seattle, Washington) and now joins with siblings Norma, Thelma, and George.
Jeanne was born in London, England on April 24, 1929. As a young girl of 10 years, she was evacuated from her family home with her siblings when World War II began. This experience shaped Jeanne in many ways and she shared many stories of the war with her family and friends over the years. In 1950, Jeanne married Eric and together they immigrated to Canada in 1951. They eventually settled in Guelph, ON after briefly establishing themselves in Toronto and Acton. Jeanne had an impeccable eye for fashion, loved to jive in the kitchen, and challenged herself with continuous learning throughout her lifetime. She could bring a roast dinner to the table with deft precision, and we will feel her presence when we do the same, just as she taught us. She will perhaps be most fondly remembered for her love of knitting and the countless heirlooms she gifted to many.
Our family would like to thank Dr. David Hood for his lifelong compassionate care and Mr. Marcello Alberton for his decade of dear friendship. It is of comfort to our family that Jeanne’s final years came with devoted friendship and compassionate care.
In accordance with Jeanne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph. Memorial contributions to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
