Our whole family has so many fond memories of Peter - from long political talks to dinners and trips to Stratford and family camp at Kitchi when the kids were young. It was so great to see him just this Christmas, although in failing health, still a commanding presence with a knowing glint in his eye! Much love from the Coxes - Don, Stuart, Martha, Anthony, Erica and Tanya T.

I met Peter soon after my arrival in Guelph in 1986. He did legal work for Vaile and I allowing us to purchase a house lot. I remembered him as kind, soft spoken and highly intelligent. My condolences to his family. Bryan Henry.

Our condolence to Marilyn and family on the passing of Peter. We always respected his intelligence and enjoyed his sense of humour. Although he is a recognized expert in playing the game of bridge, it was always a pleasure to play with him since he was never critical and made the game enjoyable. He will certainly be missed.

I am truly saddened by the passing of a man I truly respected. I worked at Kearns McKinnon back in the 80’s and PAG as I called him may be the best boss I have ever had. Even now as a teacher I try to channel the patience and humour that I saw in him. I learned a great deal from him. He most certainly made a difference to my life. Sending my condolences to his family.

I was initially introduced to Peter the day my family moved to Guelph in the 1970's. Peter arranged a bridge partner for me, Ian Sirett, in a game that evening at The Guelph Duplicate Bridge Club. Our group, consisting of many partners, continued to play together until I moved to Toronto in 2006. That group continued playing for many more years.
Peter's diligent pursuit of success at the game was rewarded in the late 1970's by accomplishing his goal of becoming a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL).
Heather worked for Peter for thirteen years. They shared a sense of humour and lots of chocolate.
Our friendship has endured throughout the years. Heather and I have fond memories of our lunches and plays at the Shaw and Stratford Festivals each summer with Peter and Marilyn as well as dinners and other social events.
Peter's and my birth dates are a day apart and, among many other memories, I will miss our annual birthday greeting telephone calls.
Our sincere sympathy to Marilyn, John, Paul, Laura and families.
Brian and Heather Ayer
