Obituary of Adelio Genesio Miotto
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Adelio Miotto on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Lidia (Baldin) Miotto for 67 years. Dear father of Enzo Miotto (2021), Lorena Langel (Francis), and Nancy Brooker (Pat), all of Guelph. Loved Nonno of Donna (Garrett) Langel, Jacob (Jesse) Brooker, Brandon (Jessica) Langel, Zachary Brooker and Matthew Brooker.
Dear brother of the late Anna (Francesco) Cecchetto, Giacomo (Armida) Miotto, Maria (Eugenio) Fraresso, Luigi (Irma) Miotto, Alessandro (Angela) Miotto, and Suor Libera Miotto.
Dear brother-in-law of the late Albino (Mary) Baldin and Caterina (Angelo) Pozzobon. Predeceased by his parents Liberale and Libera Miotto.
Adelio was born in Vedelago, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1954 with his brother Alessandro. He worked hard to build a good life for his family in what he always called the “Land of Opportunity” and was deeply devoted to family, hard work and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Adelio was a natural storyteller and with a twinkle in his eye and a sly smile on his face held court with his kids and grandkids many a time.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and PSWs who cared for Adelio. Special thanks to the compassionate and caring staff from Closing the Gap, especially Jim and Emily, and the nurses and PSWs at the Guelph General and St. Joes.
