Kerr, John Duncan Cameron
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29th with his family by his side. Loving husband to his wife of 60 years Margaret, devoted Dad to Graeme (Marnie), predeceased by his son Robert (Sarah) . Proud Papa to Haylie, Gillian, Cameron and Isla. Predeceased by his brother Jim (Jeannie), Uncle John will be missed by niece Sheena (Billy), and nephews John (Rosie) and Jim. An electrician by trade, John worked for the Upper Grand School Board in Guelph, after the family moved to Canada from Scotland in 1967. He was a proud member of Speed Lodge #180 AF&AM, as well as Rundle Chapter #108 OES and a masonic service will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Known for his beautiful Scottish tenor voice, John belonged to the Choir at St Andrews Presbyterian church for many years and enjoyed performing at functions both near and far. Many thanks go to the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at the Guelph General Hospital and St Joseph’s Health Care Centre, and to everyone at Hospice Wellington for their gentle, loving care of John in his final days.
Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Sunday, June 5, from 2 – 4 p.m. Memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow service then private family inurnment. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or Hospice Wellington would be greatly appreciated.
