Obituary of William "Bill" Howitt
Passed away quietly with family by his side at the Elliott Community on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the age of 93. Beloved father of Nancy (Pat) DeShane of Vernon, BC and Donna Hawes (Michael Baranosky) of Cochrane, AB. Cherished Grandfather of Paul DeShane (JoAnn), Peggy-Ann Newton (Dexter), Mark DeShane (Roxanne), David DeShane (Pam), Tawnia Jobin (Travis), Leesha Mafuru (Lawrence); 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Dear brother of Betty Bridges (Ken), Robert Howitt (Janice) and Patricia Bridges (Chris). Predeceased by his wife Dorothy; siblings Stanley, John, Joan and Ken and his parents Orton & Edith. Bill was a former refrigeration technician at the University of Guelph and the owner of Howitt’s Fish Market in downtown Guelph. Dad spent the last two years living happily at the Elliott Community. In lieu of flowers, if one wishes, donations may be made to The Elliott Community in Bill’s memory. Friends may call at The Elliott Community Chapel, 170 Metcalfe Street, Guelph on Friday October 16, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with the service at noon followed by refreshments at The Elliott and inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
