Obituary of Marie Wardrope
Wardrope, Marie C. (nee Jarvis) Born 18 April 1928 in Fort William, died 4 July 2016 at the Guelph General Hospital. Beloved wife, best friend and long time fun companion of the late William H. G. Wardrope. Survived by her brother A.C. Gordon Jarvis (Su) and nephews Gregory Jarvis (Jennifer), David Jarvis (Alison) and Ian Jarvis (Sabine). Marie started her career as a medical secretary at Queen’s University, Kingston and then went on to similar work at University of Western Ontario, London, then to the National Research Council in Ottawa and then, after marriage, at the University of Guelph where, for a number of years, she was secretary to the Dean of Arts. At Marie’s request there will be no visitation nor Memorial Service. Cremation and a family graveside service with inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph has already taken place. Friends, neighbours and old time colleagues are asked to say a silent prayer of goodbye, farewell and Godspeed for Marie.
