Obituary of Helen Gurr
Gurr, Helen Joan (Harron) ~ Passed away suddenly at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, February 23rd at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Gurr (2010). Proud mother of the late Beverly Roffey (2014) (Greg), David (Tara), Sharon, Sandra Gurr-Lacroix (Dan) and Paul all of Guelph. Cherished grandmother of Alanna Gurr, James Roffey (Jacqui Timperio), Erin Gurr, Emerson Lacroix, Andrea Lacroix, Nathan Gurr and Morgan Gurr. Dear sister of Maureen Jones (Gil) of Beaverton, Bill Harron (Pat) of Scarborough and the late Tom Harron. Helen was a life member of the Kinettes; a social member of Cutten Fields and was an active member of the Wednesday morning bowling league at Woodlawn Bowl. She will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Cremation has taken place.
The family will greet friends at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelphon. Thursday, March 3rd from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at CUTTEN FIELDS, 190 College Ave. East, Guelph on Friday, March 4th at 10 a.m. Private family inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society, Guelph Humane Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
